Judge quotes Taylor Swift lyrics while dismissing plagiarism lawsuit against singer

A judge in the US has dismissed a plagiarism lawsuit filed against singer Taylor Swift by quoting the pop star’s own lyrics.

R&B singer Jesse Graham recently filed a $42m (£27m) lawsuit against Swift, arguing that her 2014 hit single ‘Shake It Off’ ripped off one of his songs.

Graham believed that the ‘Shake It Off’ chorus lifts lyrics from his 2013 track ‘Haters Gone Hate’ and says there is “no way” Swift penned the lyrics independently of his song.
