Feminism Faces Reckoning for Aiding and Abetting Sexual Predators

Updated By Julie Roys |

With a rash of sexual harassment allegations against them, powerful men like Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, and Roy Moore are facing a day of reckoning. Ironically, so is feminism – a movement that claims to fight for women’s rights, but clearly has done a miserable job living up to its own billing.

As social critic Caitlin Flanagan recently argued in a scathing piece in the Atlantic, feminism betrayed women in the 1990s when it chose to defend Bill Clinton rather than the victims of his alleged sexual harassment, assault and rape. Now, women are finally realizing that feminism is not the great champion of women. It is, as Flanagan noted, “a weaponized auxiliary of the Democratic Party,” willing to sacrifice its dubious principles on the altar of political expediency.

When news of Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual misconduct with young intern Monica Lewinsky first surfaced, Betty Friedan, the woman credited with launching second-wave feminism, said: “Whether it’s a fantasy, a set-up, or true, I simply don’t care . . . Clinton has started the national childcare policy, and appointed some very strong women. He has also stood firm on abortion.”

Similarly, feminist writer Nina Burleigh crudely declared that she not only was willing to overlook Clinton’s predatory ways, she’d actually perform a sex act on Clinton “just to thank him for keeping abortion legal.”

But perhaps the greatest betrayal of women came in the form of a 1998 New York Times editorial written by feminist icon Gloria Steinem. In it, she grossly minimized Clinton’s misdeeds, claiming that his alleged groping of Kathleen Willey (whom Steinem curiously noted was “old enough to be Lewinsky’s mother”) was not sexual harassment, but merely “a gross, dumb, and reckless pass.”

She also characterized as a “pass” Clinton’s alleged groping and indecent exposure of himself to Paula Jones in a hotel room. “Even if the allegations are true,” Steinem wrote, “the President is not guilty of sexual harassment,” but merely a “candidate for sex addiction therapy.”

Gloria Steinem’s defense of Clinton was “one of the most regretted public actions of her life,” Flanagan wrote. Steinem’s piece in the New York Times “slut-shamed, victim-blamed, and aged shamed,” and urged “compassion for and gratitude to the man the women accused.”

Yet even now, Steinem is not apologizing for what she did. Neither is celebrated feminist Hillary Clinton, who reportedly tried to silence Bill’s victims, including Juanita Broaddrick, the woman he allegedly raped in 1978.

In the 1990s and subsequent decades, feminism revealed itself to be shockingly Machiavellian. At a critical time, when the nation’s attention was trained on the plight of women exploited by a powerful man, feminism essentially told female victims to suck it up and move on. Is it any wonder that women like actress Natalie Portman have been rendered numb to the sexual harassment they’ve routinely endured?

Portman recently disclosed that when the allegations against Weinstein first surfaced, she thought, “Wow, I’m so lucky that I haven’t had this.” Then on further reflection she realized she’s been the victim of sexual harassment a hundred times, but had learned to dismiss it as “part of the process.” “I’ve had discrimination or harassment on almost everything I’ve ever worked on in some way,” she said.

Feminism also told powerful predators like Bill Clinton that if they support liberal causes, they can have their way with women and feminists will have their back. Is it any wonder that the Harvey Weinsteins of this world took this message and ran with it?

Let’s face it. We’re in this current cultural moment because of feminists, not in spite of them!

But it’s not just feminists’ protection of predators that has contributed to the epidemic of sexual harassment and abuse in this country. The entire ideology of feminism renders women as tools for men.

Take their keystone political platform – abortion. What is abortion other than a get-out-of-sex-free card for men, absolving them of any responsibility for their actions? Feminists continue to champion abortion like it’s an essential means of liberation for women, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Women don’t want abortions; men do. In fact, a study reported in the Medical Science Monitor found that 64-percent of women who abort feel pressured to do so. Similarly, Frederica Matthewes-Green, who talked to hundreds of women about their decision to abort for her book, Real Choices, found that women aren’t having abortions because they are poor, or because a child would interfere with school or career plans. They’re having abortions because the men in their lives tell them to do so.

Matthewes-Green reported that 88-percent of the women she interviewed said their trip to the abortion clinic was not a choice, but a capitulation. They didn’t feel empowered; they felt isolated, overwhelmed and sad.

“No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche,” Matthewes-Green concluded. “She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg.”

Yet abortion remains enshrined as the holy grail of feminism. The National Organization of Women (NOW) names so-called “reproductive justice” as one of its five main campaigns. Reproductive Rights is also cited as one of the Women’s March main “unity principles.”

Feminism’s commitment to abortion is downright fanatical. As one of Hillary Clinton’s biographers, Dr. Paul Kengor, once wrote, “(Abortion) is Hillary’s hill to die on. I believe Hillary Clinton would give her life for Roe v. Wade.”

Abortion is necessary to achieve feminism’s goal of making women the functional equivalents of men. But women aren’t the functional equivalents of men. Perhaps someone should inform feminists that women have a womb; we nurse babies; and we’d prefer to have our unique maternal functions protected, rather than obliterated.

We’d also prefer feminists to call predatory men to account – not just the Bill Clintons and Harvey Weinsteins, but the “Alexes” and “Martys.” These are the guys who bragged to a Vanity Fair reporter about their “Tinderellas,” the dozens of girls they’ve slept with and discarded after finding them on dating apps like Tinder and Hinge.

Feminists should be up in arms over the wanton abuse of women inherent in the current hookup culture; instead so-called “third-wave” feminists are actually promoting it.

These “sex-positive” or “porn-positive” feminists are so deceived that they actually think freely prostituting one’s body is somehow in women’s best interests. Heavily influenced by the message of the sexual revolution, these daughters of second-wave feminists believe sexual freedom is essential to women’s freedom and, as a result, oppose controlling or limiting sex in any way.

Sadly, their errant ideology is killing them. As a female student at Boston College told Vanity Fair, “Sex should stem from emotional intimacy, and it’s the opposite with us right now, and I think it really is kind of destroying females’ self-images.” Her classmate agreed and added, “But if you say any of this out loud, it’s like you’re weak, you’re not independent, you somehow missed the whole memo about third-wave feminism.”

Unfortunately, men haven’t missed the memo on third-wave feminism. They’ve hopped on it just as gleefully as Weinstein would on a hot actress. But it’s sick and perverse and horribly misogynistic. And it’s about time women, and those who love them, begin saying so.

And to those conservatives, who like Friedan and Steinem are saying they don’t care if Roy Moore is guilty of molesting young women: as long as he’s pro-life, they’ll vote for him. May history deal with you every bit as harshly as it is dealing with Friedan and Steinem today.

Conservatives care about conserving timeless principles. But if you are willing to sacrifice the principle of protecting women and children for political gain, you are not a conservative; you are a grotesque pragmatist. Your day of reckoning should not be any less severe than those in whose footsteps you are walking.

But for the rest of us, let’s make today a day of reckoning for feminism and reject it once and for all. And instead, let’s embrace God’s vision for womanhood – one that honors and values women as women, and refuses to use them as tools, but instead protects and cherishes them.

Toronto Police probe ‘anti-Semitic’ music video played at Al Quds Day rally

Toronto police are investigating a video that shows music being played at this summer’s Al Quds Day rally at Queen’s Park that calls for Jews to be stabbed, attacked and beheaded.

The video shows signs scattered on ground, men in reflective vests standing and walking around the grounds and, in the background, a song plays glorifying violence against Jews.

The translated lyrics to the song, Declare It A Popular Revolution, in part say “With a Palestinian woman (armed with a knife) we defeated them”… “fill (the bottle) to the top with gasoline, and snatch from him the M-16”…“stab whoever you see, five, six, ten, twelve.”

“Declare a popular revolution,” the lyrics continue… “Make us happy with bombing the bus” and then “cut off (their heads), stab (them), run over (them), launch an attack on them.”

Toronto Police spokesman Mark Pugash confirmed “officers met with the complainants yesterday (Tuesday) and now the matter will be investigated.”

The Insane Professor

Griffin Epstein teaches at George Brown College in Toronto. In 2009, she wrote her master’s thesis on “mad Jewish identity,” which began:

“Can we be accountable to privilege? Can we find a space for coherent anti-racist secular Ashkenazi Jewish identity in North America, where Jews have been deeply implicated in structural violence? Can we be agents of both complicity and change?”

This 200-page “autoethnographic” treatise is crazy on steroids. That someone could obtain a graduate degree on the basis of such work is damning testimony to the abysmal standards of contemporary academia.

Professor Epstein attracted public attention after she published a letter in the Toronto Star, criticizing the newspaper’s coverage of a controversy at Wilfrid Laurier University:

“Instead of taking a stand against hate speech, you have given dangerous credence to the views of (University of Toronto Prof.) Jordan Peterson and his supporters, flying in the face of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.”

This controversy involves people demanding to be called by gender-neutral pronouns. Lindsey Shepherd, a teaching assistant at Wilfrid Laurier University, showed her students a video of a debate between University of Toronto psychology professor Jordan B. Peterson and Nicholas Matte, a professor in the Waterloo University women’s studies department. Peterson has become “controversial” for refusing to address students by such pronouns as “they/them” or “ze/zir.” Shepherd said she was told “that you can’t debate something like this because it causes an unsafe or toxic learning environment. I ended up being called transphobic and someone who causes harm and violence.” If you don’t do whatever transgender activists demand, you’re Hitler, basically.

When Professor Epstein weighed in on the controversy — condemning Peterson, Shepherd and the Toronto Star as proponents of “hate speech” — Badger Pundit posted a Twitter thread with excerpts from Professor Epstein’s master’s thesis, full of startling revelations. Professor Epstein is mentally ill — diagnosed with anorexia, major depression, generalized anxiety disorder and PTSD — and her “autoethnography” reveals that mental illness runs in her family. (Her uncle Larry was treated by Bruno Bettelheim.) Her master’s thesis includes statements like these:

“As a queer person who has been psychiatrized . . . the marginality that I have experienced has always been experienced in this landscape of privilege. . . .My version of secular North American Ashkenazi Jewishness was stripped to its barest component part: memory. . . . When I renounced Judaism at fourteen, weeks after my rush-job Bat Mitzvah, my mother’s devastation did not arise from my refusal of God, but a refusal to raise my hypothetical kids with the ghostly memory.”

Question: Should mentally ill people be teaching at universities?

Readers will recall that the notorious Deb Frisch was once a tenure-track psychology professor at the University of Oregon. Isn’t it important to keep such lunatics away from impressionable young people? Do we really want nutjobs and wackos teaching our youth? University faculties are beginning to resemble a casting call for a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show or One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

“On the shores of her Cambridge mansion, by the shining Charles River waters, stood Elizabeth Warren, pointing with her finger at the White House.”
The Song of Warrenwatha

Senator Elizabeth Warren, America’s greatest living fake Indian, is outraged.

“There he was, at a ceremony to honor Native Americans,” the former Harvard Law prof, who claimed to be Native American on account of her grandfather’s high cheekbones, fumed, “And President Trump couldn’t even make it through a ceremony to honor these men without throwing in a racial slur.”

The “racial slur” was calling a woman who is as Indian as the pilgrims, Pocahontas.

Taunting an American Indian that way might be a racial slur. Taunting Warren that way doesn’t insult her race. The millionaire former asbestos lawyer is as white as cottage cheese. It insults her character. It reminds everyone that Warren is as much a fighter for the “little guy” as she was a Cherokee.

The Senator from the High Cheekbones Tribe of Harvard isn’t just a fake Indian. She’s a fake class warfare activist.

And a fake everything.

Warren was a Republican before she turned Socialist. Before she was fighting corporations, she was helping corporations deny compensation to asbestos victims. And before she was protesting the high cost of education, Harvard Law was paying her $350,000 to teach a single course. A multinational corporation owned by billionaires then gave her a $525,000 advance to tell her tale of rising from “poverty” to fight for ordinary people who don’t get their own chair funded by Wall Street lawyers.

It would take a heart of stone not to make Pocahontas jokes about a blue-eyed scam artist so shameless she passed herself off as Harvard Law School’s “first woman of color.” A grifter whose campaign tried to prove she was really Indian by citing the work of her cousin who wrote the ‘Pow Wow Chow’ cookbook containing such authentic Indian recipes as Cold Omelets with Crab Meat and Mexican Oatmeal Soup.

Unfortunately the Cold Omelets with Crab Meat recipe turned out to be plagiarized from the braves of the New York Times. Warren’s Cherokee claims are as fake as her outrage over being exposed as a liar.

There’s only one racist in this story. It’s Elizabeth Warren.

Calling her out for appropriating an oppressed group’s minority status for affirmative action so she could kickstart her career helping big corporations rip off the “little guy”, before switching to a Senate career promising to protect the “little guy” from people like her former employers, isn’t racism.

It’s fighting racism.

When the scandal broke, Senator Warren could have apologized to the Cherokee Nation. Instead she trotted out her grandfather’s “high cheekbones”, an imaginary document proving she was 1/32 Cherokee which turned out not to exist and Pow Wow Chow’s Mexican soup.

It’s almost as painful as watching her leftist colleague, Senator Franken claim that he unintentionally groped women because he’s just a people person. The only thing more awkward is the Washington Post’s desperate explainer, “Trump’s racist ‘Pocahontas’ reference really has nothing to do with Elizabeth Warren.” The only possible way the reference could be racist would be if it had nothing to do with Warren. However since Trump was referring to Warren, POTUS and reality trump the Post.

The simple and awkward truth is that Senator Elizabeth Warren lied. There, was that so hard?

Just last week, Dems were celebrating how good it felt to finally admit that Bill Clinton was a rapist. But almost as soon as they experienced that liberating moment of truth, they had to call Congressman Conyers an icon (a civil rights icon who can’t keep his pants on or his hands to himself) while helping Senator Franken figure out what the exact definition of ‘grope” is.

Will it really take them another twenty years to admit that Senator Warren is as Indian as Iron Eyes Cody, Oscar de Corti, the famous Crying Indian in the anti-pollution Earth Day ads? Oscar also claimed to be Cherokee. And he proved it by wearing headdresses and moccasins everywhere. His actual tribe hailed from the environs of Sicily. The tear in the Earth Day ad was glycerin. Earth Day was also a fraud.

The left loves its fake Indians. If you’re a white guy or girl, trade your privilege for instant authenticity by finding your own Pow Wow Chow cookbook. Just ask Ward “Little Eichmanns” Churchill who, like Warren, got his academic gig with a little affirmative action grease, or Jamake Highwater, who was all over PBS and college reading lists, whose parents were  not Cherokee, but Jewish Los Angelinos.

But come hell or highwater, the left will stand by Elizabeth ‘Iron Lies’ Warren.

Why protect Pocahontas from her own lies? Because Senator Warren didn’t just lie about her ancestry. She lied and lies about everything. The CFPB was never anything but a shifty leftist enclave. It was racist, illegal, unconstitutional and secretive. And, like everything Warren does, it was about power and profit.

There’s the myth of Fauxcahontas. And there’s the reality.

The Warren myth is that she’s courageous. The truth is that she’s a self-serving coward. Take her recent willingness to admit that the Dem primaries were “rigged”. It took her all of six days to walk it back.

Or take her entire career as an advocate for whoever would pay her the most.

These days, it’s the left.

Senator Warren will play a Cherokee or a consumer advocate if there’s enough money in it.

She claimed that she had tried to pass as a minority in academia so that she “would be invited to a luncheon a group something with people who are like I am”.

Sadly, Rachel Dolezal, Iron Eyes Cody and Ja Du never got the invitation.

“Being Native American has been part of my story, I guess, since the day I was born,” Warren claimed. Except that no one had ever heard of any such nonsense from her until law school.

Or, as Iron Eyes Cody’s sister said, “The next thing we heard was that he had turned Indian.”

Then, just as expediently, Warren ceased to be a member of the High Cheekbones Tribe of Harvard.

At least, Iron Eyes Cody had the decency to stick with his shtick instead of going back to being a white man the moment a juicy part in the Godfather came along. That’s more than you can say for Liz’s summer Indian routine. Headdress off and on is somehow more contemptuously racist.

The Cherokee, like everyone else, were nothing more than suckers for Warren to lie about and exploit. The best way to fight Senator Warren’s racism is to mock her pretensions by calling her, “Pocahontas”.

Trump isn’t hurling a racial slur at a white leftist liar. He’s exposing a racist.

Why is the left so outraged that President Trump called Senator Warren, “Pocahontas”? Forget about the “racial slur” nonsense.  When your defense is, “Trump’s racist ‘Pocahontas’ reference really has nothing to do with Elizabeth Warren,” that really means it has nothing to do with racism.

And everything to do with Elizabeth Warren.

Let’s flash back to that last election where Trump trounced an unlikable prim lefty activist who couldn’t stop compensating for her own boring identity by making up stories about the time she negotiated peace in Northern Ireland, tried to join NASA and the Marines, and landed at an airport under fire.

A big chunk of the left wants Warren to run in 2020. So does Trump. He wouldn’t even need a new game plan because Elizabeth Warren is Hillary Clinton. There are the shady financial dealings, the stiff interviews, the flip-flopping, the missing sense of humor, the shameless greed and the compulsive lying.

The left is terrified of a second Trump term. And it’s terrified that its next Trump-killer candidate will just be Hillary again. Trump’s ‘Pocahontas’ attacks play into that fear. And paradoxically make it more likely.

But one thing you can say for Hillary Clinton, at least she never claimed to be Cherokee.
