Park’s downfall muddles Japan’s options on comfort women, N Korea

Park Geun Hye’s historic impeachment as South Korean president, upheld by a constitutional court Friday, has complicated Japan’s path to reconciling bilateral grievances including the “comfort women” issue, and could also impact the countries’ response to the escalating security threat from North Korea.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been in power the whole time since 65-year-old Park became South Korea’s first female president in 2013.

While the two had not seen eye to eye on every issue, together they made progress in one of the sticking points in bilateral relations springing from their countries’ turbulent history.

The December 2015 accord promised to “finally and irreversibly” resolve the issue of caring for women forced into Japanese military brothels before and during World War II.

Abe and Park have also formed a united front in the face of North Korea’s ballistic missile and nuclear weapon development through cooperation with their common ally the United States.

Abe has received support from Japanese voters for both initiatives, but may not have such a smooth ride with South Korea’s next leader.

Following Park’s impeachment by South Korea’s Constitutional Court, confirming a vote by the National Assembly over a corruption and abuse-of-power scandal, a presidential by-election must take place in the next 60 days.

“The presidential election will take place in an advantageous environment for the opposition parties,” said Masao Okonogi, professor emeritus at Keio University in Tokyo.

Moon Jae In, the leading presidential hopeful from the main opposition Democratic Party of Korea, has recently been polling at more than 30 percent support from voters. He has called for a renegotiation of the comfort women accord.

Aside from Moon, Ahn Cheol Soo, leader of the minor opposition People’s Party, and other contenders have said they want the deal reviewed.

While Park promoted the agreement, the last few months of her term have seen bilateral tensions spike over the issue.

Japanese Ambassador to South Korea Yasumasa Nagamine has yet to return to Seoul after being recalled Jan. 9 in to protest the installation by civic groups in December of a statue commemorating comfort women in front of Japan’s Consulate in Busan.

The statue is of the same design as one in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul and in several locations overseas. The latest statue went up in Germany this week.

The Japanese government has repeatedly called for South Korea to “steadily implement” the 2015 agreement, including by “resolving” the issue of the statues—which to Tokyo means removing them.

This is likely to be a hard sell for any prospective South Korean leader, particularly in light of the need to unite a public stirred up by the Park debacle. Two people died and dozens were injured in demonstrations in streets of Seoul near the court Friday.

A show of resilience toward Japan over historical and territorial grievances may be a safe issue to unite a divided voting base.

But over time, the need to keep relations with Japan intact for strategic reasons could see Moon or another successor change his tune on the issue, Okonogi said.

“Right now, those expected to be put up as candidates from the opposition parties are expressing negativity about the (comfort women agreement), but if elected, they must persuade the public to keep the promise made with Japan,” he said.

A source close to Moon said it will not be easy to overturn the agreement between governments, hinting that Moon may alter his stance to take a more pragmatic path on the agreement if he becomes president.

For Japan’s part, Nagamne “had better return to his post soon in anticipation of dialogue with the new administration,” Okonogi said.

After news of the impeachment Friday, Japanese government officials stuck to their line that the government will “consider the various factors” before making a decision on when to return Nagamine to Seoul.

Abe and Park’s successor will also have to tackle the shared threat from North Korea, which this week fired four ballistic missiles nearly simultaneously into waters near Japan.

Moon has expressed reservations about the planned deployment of an advanced U.S. missile defense system known as the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system, or THAAD, a decision made by Park.

He has also questioned the Park administration’s signing with Japan in November of a military intelligence-sharing pact called the General Security of Military Information Agreement or GSOMIA.

Fukushiro Nukaga, head of a cross-party Japan-South Korea parliamentarians’ league in the Japanese Diet, expressed concern about the potential for an “excessive reaction” by the next government in its stance toward Japan.

U.S. President Donald Trump could end up uniting the leaders in certain respects. He has vowed to take firm action on Pyongyang, certain to require the coordination of allies Japan and South Korea.

With such a range of issues at play, the Abe administration’s success in reaching out to the next South Korean leader may be measured by how soon Japan can set up the next trilateral leaders’ meeting with China.

It was Japan’s turn to host the summit before the end of last year, but planning was derailed by Park’s turmoil.

When the Supreme Court imposed phony marriage on the entire country, the LGBTs were left wondering what to do next, how to keep their issue boiling?

Some of them, chief among them radio host/activist Michelangelo Signorelli, accurately predicted that the conservative Christian response would be to protect religious freedom, that the Christians would beg to be left alone, not forced to participate in morally objectionable religious services.

Other homosexual power centers responded by pushing the transgender thing even though they had never really been interested before. A cursory look at the New York Times demonstrates that there were next to no stories at all about transgenders per se until 2015 in the run-up to Obergefell. Stories went from one or two to more than 1,000 almost overnight.

Both responses had more to do with fundraising and keeping their issue before the public after they had swept the table at the Supreme Court. After all, gay couples could easily find other bakers and other photographers to decorate and commemorate their “nuptials.”

The quite remarkable thing that has happened is they are now willing to talk openly about their way of life. The execrable but nonetheless mainstream gay publication Advocate published a story—by a doctor no less—teaching youngsters how to train their bodies for sodomy. It makes for truly gruesome reading.

He writes, “I often tell patients that great bottoms have been doing it for quite some time, with many first experiencing it in their youth. Unfortunately, no one showed us the right way to bottom in our high school sexual education class. Still, it’s never too late to learn, and we all enjoy new and positive sexual experiences. Here’s my 101 guide to bottoming…”

The publication also ran a piece on how gay men should have regular pap smears for their backsides. Now, these pieces will not be seen outside the homosexual bubble, but even more out in the open are two shocking and revealing pieces just published in the more mainstream Huffington Post.

Keep in mind, if they did not think they had already won everything, they would not be willing to reveal the nasty underside of their way of life.

Chad Felix Greene begins “What Happens When Men Have Sex with Teenage Boys” with this rather arresting opening: “I had sex with a man as a teenager for the first time when I was 14.” He says an older man approached him in a public library and essentially assaulted him. He liked it and kept going back for more. He writes the older man “guided me through the various sexual activities.”

Greene goes on to describe his riotously sexual and dangerous teen years: “at 15 standing outside, alone, in empty parking lots at 1 a.m. waiting for complete strangers to pick me up for sex in their cars.” By 16, he “had had dozens of sexual partners.” When he left high school he said he met more gay guys his own age and he was “shocked to discover nearly all of them had experienced the same thing.”

Greene is now 34 and says he cannot imagine doing the same to a teen boy that was done to him. Even so, what he describes is commonplace, something gays hitherto would be loathe to admit.

The other story published at the Huffington Post is called “Together Along: The Epidemic of Gay Loneliness” by Michael Hobbes. It is thousands of words long and can only be described as a cry of the heart about how awful is Gay World. Hobbes describes the trajectory that separates his gay and sexually normal friends; the sexually normal go off to relationships, marriage, happiness; the gays go off to lives of furtive drug fueled anonymous sex, heavy drinking, porn, and debilitating loneliness. Hobbes cites half a dozen studies demonstrating there is something terribly wrong in Gay World.

They are “between 2 and 10 times more likely than straight people to commit suicide … twice as likely to have a major depressive episode.” Three-quarters of “gay men who have recently arrived in New York City suffer from anxiety or depression, abused drugs or alcohol, or were having risky sex, or some combination of the three.”

Hobbes says, “gay men have fewer close friends than straight people or gay women” and the feeling of emptiness “is not just an American phenomenon. In the Netherlands, where gay marriage has been legal since 2001, gay men remain three times more likely to suffer from a mood disorder than straight men, and 10 times more likely to engage in ‘suicidal self harm’.” In Sweden, which has had civil unions since 1995 and full marriage since 2009, men married to men have triple the suicide rate of men married to women, Hobbes writes.

Hobbes mentions New York, Sweden and the Netherlands deliberately to make a point. Each are relative gay paradises so external “homophobia” cannot be a reason. Hobbes himself was “raised in a bright blue city by PFLAG parents. I’ve never known anyone who died of AIDS, I’ve never experienced direct discrimination and I came out of the closet into a work where marriage, a picket fence and a golden retriever were not just feasible but expected.” Then he says, “I’ve also been in and out of therapy more times than I’ve downloaded and deleted Grindr.” (Grindr is a particularly nasty gay website that allows men to hook up with other men right now wherever they are.)

Hobbes says part of the problem is internalized homophobia, what you might call “homo-homophobia,” but what they call “minority stress.” The theory of minority stress is that a member of a “marginalized” community may experience outright hostility or at the least require extra effort in all aspects of their lives, pressure that most of us cannot know. Maybe. Maybe not.

In their magisterial review of the literature on sexual orientation and gender identity, Drs. Lawrence Mayer and Paul McHugh write,

The social stress model probably accounts for some of the poor mental health outcomes experienced by sexual minorities, though the evidence supporting the model is limited, inconsistent and incomplete. Some of the central concepts of the model, such as stigmatization, are not easily operationalized. There is evidence linking some forms of mistreatment, stigmatization, and discrimination to some of the poor mental health outcomes experienced by non-heterosexuals, but it is far from clear that these factors account for all of the disparities between the heterosexual and non-heterosexual populations.

And not even Hobbes is fully convinced. He says the common gay life is inherently alienating, most especially with the rise of Grindr. But, even more than that, social interaction is vile. He describes coming out as homosexual and eagerly going to West Hollywood to be with his people and discovered “it was really horrifying. It’s made by gay adults, and it’s not welcoming for gay kids.” He says it’s like a jungle. Hobbes’s friend Paul says he felt just like a piece of meat. Moreover, rejection was everywhere and constant. “All of a sudden it’s not your gayness that gets you rejected. It’s your weight, or your income, or your race.”

Gay men in particular are just not very nice to each other, Hobbes reports.

Hobbes’s truly honest piece goes on and on and it is heartbreaking to read, particularly when you know that more and more teen boys have been lied to and are being lured into this noxious germ-ridden and psychologically debilitating stew.

But this is the reality of Gay World that most Americans do not know. It is the reality of Gay World that Homosexual Inc. was eager to hide and that traditional marriage leaders were quite happy to turn away from.

We are now busy defending the religious freedom not to be forced to participate in gay weddings. This is perhaps the most defensive position we could take, and therefore the weakest, and by the way, it is already largely lost. Why should we be able to refuse service to a homosexual wedding when they are just like us and it is legal?

Unless, they are not just like us. The underlying reality of Gay World is ugly and dangerous. Even they are admitting it now. But this is something Traditional Marriage Inc. has refused to consider.

One of our marriage leaders actually said he “honored” the relationships among his gay friends. Recall that super-lawyer Chuck Cooper was planning his lesbian daughter’s wedding at the same time he was badly defending traditional marriage in the California courts. Traditional marriage leaders have resolutely refused to engage Robert Reilly’s sodomy thesis in his Making Gay Okay: How Rationalizing Homosexual Behavior Is Changing Everything.

Some traditional marriage leaders say gay sex has nothing to do with defending marriage and we cannot work to overturn gay marriage unless and until we get our own house in order. They say we ruined marriage and gave homosexuals their opening. In fact, it was the leftist sexual revolutionaries who set out to destroy marriage.

The reality is that even after all the opprobrium heaped on the sacred institution of marriage, most people still want it, they hunger for it. According to Gallup 78 percent of those never married say they want to be married. And when married, people believe in faithfulness. Gallup reports only 10 percent think adultery is morally acceptable and this is up only 3 percent since 2001.

The fact is that the underlying hideous reality of homosexuality has been hidden from Mr. and Mrs. America. Would they be so open to it, if they knew the truth? Would young boys be lured to it if they knew the horrors that awaited them? We will only ever know if someone tells them. Who will that be?

Ryerson University Indoctrinator tells female student she is wrong for not relying ONLY on feminist journals

TORONTO – A Ryerson University student who wanted to write a paper on the “myth” of the male-female wage gap was told by her prof that not only was she wrong, she should only rely on feminist journals for her assignment instead of business sources which “blame women,” her sister says.

Josephine Mathias, 21, a fourth-year political science student at University of Toronto, took to YouTube Wednesday to criticize the assignment given her twin Jane for a sociology class.

“I mean it’s easy to prove a point when you remove all other sources,” Josephine said Thursday. “If she just gives you the ones that…the professor agrees with, then that’s basically brainwashing. It’s indoctrination.”

After Jane sent an email describing her intention to write about the wag gap, her instructor replied that her premise was wrong, Josephine said.

“Perhaps you want to write your paper on the glass ceiling. You need to look at feminist sources on this issue…Do NOT use business sources. They blame women. The reality is patriarchy,” says the instructor’s email, posted online.

In a copy of the assignment provided to the Toronto Sun by Josephine, the instructor also notes that Ontario and Canada government websites and Statistics Canada will not be considered scholarly sources.

“Government websites state government policy that is devoid of analysis, and usually reproduces mainstream stereotypes, assumptions and misconceptions,” the assignment says.

Although the video refers to a professor, the person is listed on the Ryerson website as an instructor.

She did not respond to a Toronto Sun request for comment, and Ryerson University declined to comment on the video.

Jane said in an email that she initially questioned her own research after the instructor’s email, but is now happy to have the support of those who have spoken up in opposition.

“There are other students in that class who don’t have that privilege and are filled with misinformation,” Jane said. “It’s hurtful towards them in the long run.”

The instructor says the wage gap exists, but works through the “glass ceiling.”

Josephine said the facts do not support the wage gap myth, noting in her YouTube video that it is illegal to pay women less than men for the same work and differences come about as a result of education and career choices as well as hours of work.

Impressionable students should be encouraged to use credible business sources and statistics, but instead are being sent out into the real world without a realistic point of view, she said.

“They have no facts. They have no tangible explanations or solutions for anything,” Josephine said. “All the sources or all the information they know comes from feminist literature that’s not even correct.”

Josephine has tackled a number of controversial topics in her YouTube videos because she wants to show that a person “can be liberal and still be against political correctness and pro free speech.”

Toronto imam says Muslims will eventually kill all Jews

Sheikh Abdulqani Mursal, imam at Masjid Al Hikma mosque in Toronto (36 Colville Rd, North York – Lawrence and Keele), explains that the fate of the Jews is destined to be killed by the Muslims.

In a lecture at the at Masjid Al Hikma mosque, Mursal read the chapter “Turmoil And Portents Of The Last Hour” from Sahih Muslim (hadith collection, meaning narrations attributed to Mohammad), including the following narrations (01:07-07:24 – originally in Arabic, translated by

Ibn ‘Umar reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You will fight against the Jews and you will kill them until even a stone would say: Come here, Muslim, there is a Jew (hiding himself behind me); kill him.

Ubaidullah has reported this hadith with this chain of transmitters (and the Words are): “There is a Jew behind me.”

Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You and the Jews would fight against one another until a stone would say: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; come and kill him.

Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The Jews will fight against you and you will gain victory over them until the stone would say: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; kill him.

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

Mursal noted that some scholars explain that the hadiths describe a scenario prophesied by Mohammad in which the Muslims will kill the Jews who will not be able to find a place to hide. However, he believes that the stones and the trees will in fact have the capability to speak and reveal the hideouts of the Jews. The video was published on YouTube on May 29, 2012 with the following caption: “Kitaab Al Fitan 4 Explained In Arabic By Sh Abdulqani Mursal At Masjid Al Hikma In Toronto Canada.”

Senior Muslim scholars including in Canada find signs of the Last Day in the current situation in the world

ICNA Canada online syllabus: “Muslims will dominate the Jews”, kill them

ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) Canada is an Islamic nationalwide organizationstriving “to build an Exemplary Canadian Muslim Community” by “total submission to Him [Allah] and through the propagation of true and universal message of Islam.”

Located at 391 Burnhamthorpe Rd., East, Oakville, Ontario, ICNA Canada emphasizes that “the propagation of true and universal message of Islam is only possible in Canada when whole Canadian Muslim Community transformed into a Dawah community by practicing and propagating the true Islamic Way of Life. With the vision of building an exemplary Canadian Muslim community it is very important to spread the word of Islam…”

Dr. Iqbal Massod Al-Nadvi is the Amir (President) of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Canada and is also serving as Chairperson of Canadian Council of Imams (Canada’s top Imam). he also served as Director of Al-Falah Islamic School in Oakville, Ontario from 2004 to 2011, prior to which he served as Imam of Muslim Association of Calgary Islamic Center from 1998-2004 and as a member of the University of Calgary chaplaincy team.

Zunera Ishaq, the woman that stood at the centre of the “niqab debate” in the Canadian election campaign, is affiliated with the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).

On its official website ICNA Canada shares with its members, followers and supporters the book “Riyad us Saliheen” (“The Gardens of the Righteous” رياض الصالحين) compiled by Imam Zakaruya Yahya Bin Sharaf An-Nawawi, a Sunni Shafi’ite jurist and hadith scholar who lived in 13th century.

The Gardens of the Righteous (Arabic: Riyadh as-Salihin), is a compilation of verses from the Qur’an and hadith by Al-Nawawi. It contains a total of 1905 hadith divided across 372 chapters, many of which are introduced by verses of the Quran.

The book “Riyad us Saliheen” (“The Gardens of the Righteous”) which appears on ICNA Canada site adds modern commentary to the verses from the Qur’an and hadith.

The following are excerpts from the book which deal with the Jews:

[Hadith] 824. Ash-Sharid bin Suwaid (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) passed by me when I was sitting with my left hand behind my back and leaning on my palm. On seeing me in this posture he said, “Do you sit like those upon whom the Wrath of Allah has descended?” [Abu Dawud].”

Commentary: The Jews and Christians are the people upon whom came the Wrath of Allah. Muslims have been stopped from copying their example. But unfortunately they now take a pride in imitating them in every matter and think it necessary for worldly progress.”

[Hadith] 866. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you; and when you meet any one of them on the road, force him to go to the narrowest part of it.” [Muslim].”

Commentary: This Hadith prohibits Muslims from greeting non-Muslims first. It also tells us that when the road is crowded, we should use the middle of the road and let the non-Muslims use its sides. This Hadith shows the dignity of Muslims and the disgrace and humiliation of the non-Muslims.”

[Hadith] 868. Usamah bin Zaid (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) passed by a mixed company of people which included Muslims, polytheists and Jews, and he gave them the greeting (i.e., saying As-Salamu `Alaikum). [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].”

Commentary: If there is a mixed assembly of Muslims and non-Muslims, one should utter greeting to it but consider Muslims as one’s addressees.”

[Hadith] 883. Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Jews used to intentionally sneeze in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) hoping that he would say to them: `Yarhamukum-ullah (may Allah have mercy on you),’ but he would respond with: “Yahdikum-ullahu wa yuslihu balakum (may Allah guide you and render sound your state of affairs).” [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].”

Commentary: Here, we are told that in response to sneezing on the part of non-Muslims, we should only utter these benedictory words: “Yahdikum-ullahu wa yuslihu balakum (may Allah guide you and render sound your state of affairs)!”

[Hadith] 1636. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) as saying: “Jews and Christians do not dye their hair, so act differently from them.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].”

Commentary: We learn from this Hadith that the Prophet (PBUH) has advised the Muslims to dye the hair of their head and beard with yellow or red colour. They have been forbidden from dying the hair with black colour, as will be explained in the coming Ahadith.”

Some religious scholars have regarded this as something desirable. Therefore, it is not necessary to dye the hair of head and beard. But this is certainly better. Since any resemblance with the Jews and Christians is unlawful, not dying the hair will create a resemblance with them. Therefore, in such a situation the colouring will be necessary, otherwise it will be Mustahabb, that is to say desirable.”

[Hadith] 1812. Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Dajjal (the Antichrist) will be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan and will be dressed in robes of green coloured satin.” [Muslim].”

Commentary: Isfahan is a city in Persia (Iran). Tailasan green sheet (is the dress of the Sheikhs of the non-Arab nations).”

[Hadith] 1819. `Abdullah bin `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: One day the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) mentioned Al-Masih Dajjal (the Antichrist) in the presence of the people and said, “Verily, Allah is not one-eyed but Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal is blind in the right eye which looks like a swollen grape.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]”

Commentary: All these narrations about the mischief of Dajjal are correct and have been narrated through reliable narrators, and all scholars agree on their being true. They have been reported by Al- Bukhari and Muslim, whose narrations are unanimously accepted by the `Ulama’.”

The second coming of the Prophet ‘Isa (Jesus) from the heavens is proved on the basis of such reliable and true narrations that none can contradict them. Before the Day of Resurrection all these things will happen, and it is essential to believe in them.”

Dajjal would be a descendant of the Jews, and he will be called Dajjal because of his mischief. The meaning of Dajjal is `one who greatly resorts to fraud and deception’.”

Allah will also give him some extraordinary powers to test the belief of the Muslims. Dajjal will claim to be the lord of the world. A large portion of the Jews will be with him. He has also been named as Al- Masih Ad-Dajjal in some narrations. Jesus, son of Mary (Peace be upon them) will have the honour of killing him.”

[Hadith] 1820. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah(PBUH) said, “The Last Hour will not come until the Muslims fight against the Jews, until a Jew will hide himself behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or the tree will say: `O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him,’ but Al-Gharqad tree will not say so, for it is the tree of the Jews.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].”

Commentary: Gharqad is a thorny plant which is well-known in the area of Palestine. Allah can bestow the power of speech to whatever thing He likes. When Allah wills, He will give mastery to the Muslims. He will help them even by means of plants and stones which will assist the Muslims against the Jews by informing them about the whereabouts of the Jews.”

The Jews have predominance over the Muslims in spite of the fact that they are a minority. But according to this true narration, the situation will definitely change before the Day of Resurrection, and the Muslims will dominate the Jews. Allah is the Master and Rubb of everything.”
