Taiwan swore in Tsai Ing-wen as its first female president on Friday.

Beijing-sceptic Tsai took the oath of office at the presidential palace in Taipei after winning a landslide victory in January signalling the end of an eight-year rapprochement with Beijing.

Public support for outgoing president Ma Ying-jeou plunged as voters felt he had moved too close to Beijing, which still sees the island as part of its territory.

Tsai raised her right arm as she read the oath in front of Taiwan’s national flag while celebrating crowds watched the ceremony on big screens outside.

She then received the seal of the Republic of China – Taiwan’s official name – and the presidential seal.

Tsai accompanied Ma out of the presidential office as the outgoing leader shook hands with staff.

Prominent Black Lives Matter activist arrested on sex trafficking charges

Charles Wade co-founded Operation Help or Hush in the aftermath of the August 2014 police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. The group claims it helps raise funds for the needy and provide food and shelter for activists.

But according to a police report obtained by TheDC, the 33-year-old Wade was raising money in more explicit ways.

He was arrested on April 25 at a motel where he resided in College Park, Md. Police say he was using the motel room to pimp a 17-year-old girl.

He’s charged with seven counts, including felonies for human trafficking. The charges carry sentences of up to 25 years in prison and a $15,000 fine. Wade posted $25,000 bond and left jail on April 27.

Wade denied the allegations in an email to The Daily Caller.

Formerly a stylist for Solange Knowles, the sister of Beyonce, Wade has been featured in numerous news articles about the Black Lives Matter movement. He was also invited by the White House earlier this week to a movie screening with other Black Lives Matter activists. Wade says he did not attend the function, which was on Tuesday.

Last year, a team of Washington Post reporters, including Pulitzer Prize-winner Wesley Lowery, included Wade in a profile of Black Lives Matter activists who protested after the August 2014 shooting of Michael Brown by Ferguson, Mo. police officer Darren Wilson.

The Post piece referred to questions about Wade’s fundraising activities — which he and his group conduct mostly through Twitter — but offered a largely glowing portrayal of the activist.

The paper also covered him in December 2014 after he helped model Chrissy Teigen and singer John Legend donate to activists protesting Eric Garner’s death in New York City.

Salon’s Todd Nickerson on Pedophilia: ‘I’m Not a Monster’

pedophile enabling Salon strikes again!

http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2016/05/18/salons-todd-nickerson-on-pedophilia-im-not-a-monster/

Salon writer Todd Nickerson has released a video in which he admits his love for a 5-year-old girl and why he thinks it’s justified.

The three minute video begins with Nickerson describing how he first fell in love with a child he babysat when he was 18.

“I remember looking up and just seeing her and just going… ‘Wow, she’s beautiful,’” Nickerson explains. “I knew I was in deep, I had fallen for the girl.”

He goes on to explain that he never hurt the girl. Todd mentions that a lot of his fantasies revolve around young girls that are more powerful than himself and that his breaking point came when he would have to excuse himself while babysitting to masturbate in the bathroom. He left town shortly after to “get his head straightened out.”

The video advertises an online forum for pedophiles alike called “Virtuous Pedophiles,” with the purpose of educating others on “moral pedophiles.” Under the “Who We Are” section of the forum, you find this statement:

Our website is intended to reduce the stigma attached to pedophilia by letting people know that a substantial number of pedophiles DO NOT molest children, and to provide peer support and information about available resources to help virtuous pedophiles remain law-abiding, and lead happy, productive lives.  These are our stories.  There are brief bios of the two founders of the site and collections of other personal stories.

The online forum also contains a list of Frequently Asked Questions including, “Why you should care about pedophiles,” to which they give this reply:

It could be your son.

According to the best available evidence, most pedophiles first become aware of their condition in their early teens. We start like everyone else. We first become attracted to kids who are our own age. As we grow older, however, the objects of our attraction do not. Gradually we become aware of our condition. Believing the popular wisdom that we are evil and will inevitably abuse children, many of us experience depression, self-loathing and sometimes become suicidal.

Todd Nickerson adds that pedophiles and society must find some sort of middle ground, otherwise people like him end up as fatalists. The video ends on a audacious note: “We love kids and we want to protect them too.”
