false rape accuser: Abbigail Leggett

A false rape claim has landed an Ellisville woman behind bars.

Abbigail Leggett, 23, was charged with false reporting of a crime.

Leggett was a passenger in a car that was pulled over by Ellisville police. The officer received a text message from Leggett claiming she was being held against her will by the man she was in the car with.

Leggett also stated that the man had sexually assaulted her prior to the traffic stop.

After further investigation, Ellisville Police determined that the evidence proved no rape or kidnapping had occurred.

This is the second time in a few weeks span that a false rape claim was made in Jones County.
