AN English teacher has been placed on paid leave amid allegations she had a sexual relationship with a teenage student.
Thirty-two-year-old Nicole McDonough has been charged with ‘official misconduct’ after allegedly having ‘improper relationships’ with three 18-year-old male students.
The teacher is accused of having a “physical sexual relationship” with one student, and having improper “communication and fraternization” with all three.
McDonough, from Mount Olive in New Jersey, was placed on immediate paid leave at West Morris Mendham High School after her arrest on December 30.
At that time she was charged with one count of official misconduct for allegedly having sex with one student in May and June of 2014, a criminal complaint signed by Morris County Prosecutor’s Detective Bruce LaFera stated.
A raven-haired temptress Catholic school teacher in the Detroit area was sentenced Tuesday to up to 15 years in prison for having sex with a student.
Kathryn Ronk, 30, taught Spanish at Bishop Foley High School in Madison Heights, where she engaged in sex acts with a 15-year-old student, prosecutors said.
The former educator, who is married, apologized for her actions inside the Oakland County courtroom and appeared shocked as she was led out by deputies, The Detroit News reported.
“I’m so sorry for the victim and his family, for the school and the community, my family … and I’m so sorry for my husband,” she said.
“With treatment, I’m getting better. I know I have to go away but this is a lifelong journey, and I am meeting it.”
The statements did little to move Circuit Judge Nanci Grant.
“To ignore a crime and a victim and an ongoing involvement in school, outside school, in a car. You did something you shouldn’t have done,” the judge said.
“Fifteen is 15. He’s still a boy figuring out the ways in the world.”
Ronk pleaded guilty last month to third-degree criminal sexual conduct as part of a sentencing deal. She also has an upcoming trial in Macomb County, where other romps with the boy reportedly took place.
