A Rockland County legislator who received a threatening picture earlier this week said Friday the message of violence and intimidation will not deter him from serving his constituents.
Legislator Aron Wieder, D-Spring Valley, said the chilling color image, in which his face is superimposed on the body of an ISIS prisoner about to be beheaded, was sent in an envelope postmarked from Monsey to his county office. He opened it while the Legislature was in session Monday, he said.
“I opened the letter and I was completely shocked. I literally had shivers running down my spine,” Wieder said.
The legislator excused himself from county business and walked the picture over to Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who was at the meeting.
Falco said Friday the case has been under active investigation.
“We’re taking this very seriously as a threat and will be working with our partners in law enforcement and the FBI to try to track down who sent this,” he said.
Recently there was a report on the alleged blacklisting of game industry professional Kevin Dent. Dent has been involved in a number of business ventures throughout the interactive entertainment industry, but ended up on the bad side of the media when he made comments certain journalists deemed “sexist” and “creepy”.
The previously published article explains how Giant Bomb journalists Patrick Klepek and Alex Navarro spearheaded an attempt to no longer have a group of gaming journalists quote, interview or engage with Kevin Dent. The two did so through the Game Journo Pros secret mailing list that was exposed during #GamerGate. This is the same list that contained the major writers, site owners and editors-in-chief working at prominent gaming and tech websites; the GJP contained members from major outlets that collectively reached an estimated 300 million uniques a month.
The e-mail thread basically started over a fallout between Kevin Dent and Phil Fish, the same Phil Fish who made Fez.
According to the Federal Trade Commission, group boycotts may be illegal. As stated on the FTC website regarding antitrust laws…
“Any company may, on its own, refuse to do business with another firm, but an agreement among competitors not to do business with targeted individuals or businesses may be an illegal boycott, especially if the group of competitors working together has market power.”
“Boycotts to prevent a firm from entering a market or to disadvantage an existing competitor are also illegal.”
Besides the obvious religious reasons – that Islam urges Muslims to beat, rob, rape, and kill non-Muslims, and denigrates and demonize non-Muslims to such extend that many Muslims find it natural to do so – Islam creates a psychologically unhealthy culture that spawns criminal minds (more here: Report from the therapy room: Why are Muslims more violent and criminal?).
Graphics from Danish Statistics’ report on immigrant crime in 2007. According to the 2014 data, not much has changed (except that the Muslims have become many more – meaning many more criminals…)
Translated from Altinget (when looking at the graphs above and reading the excerpt below, it is important to know that the majority of the “Ex-Yugoslavs” are actually Muslims, especially when it comes to Ex-Yogoslavs populating Danish prisons – I know because I worked there):
“With crime rates half of that of Danes, one can not exactly blame Chinese, Indians and Filipinos to fill up the Danish prisons. In contrast, crime is alarmingly high among other immigrant groups. And it does not seem to fall. On the contrary, the same groups are in the top of the crime index year after year. …
Statistics Denmark has adjusted the crime index according to the so-called socio-economic factors. There is also adjusted for age, because there will normally be a more crime in populations with many young people. The figures are therefore directly comparable. …
On average Lebanese commit almost three times as many crimes as Vietnamese. Both groups contain refugees. …
Among the nine ethnic groups with the highest crime rate eight are Muslim. Ex-Yugoslavs are the only non-Muslim group with the top.”
